Description
A beautiful and exceptional luxury gift box of made of 100g of the competition-grade, award-winning dento hon gyokuro of tea master Koga san, also available in 50g and 10g smaller bags (see our product MIYAKO). Dento hon gyokuro is a speciality of Yame area, today the only region in Japan that still grows the 'king of teas' in the traditional way, under the shade of rice straw. The red GI label on the box proves that this gyokuro was grown and made according to this process.
Next to the elegant can containing the gyokuro, a beautiful set of white porcelain from Arita (Saga pref., Kyushu), one of the most famous porcelain-making areas of Japan.
This set includes a small tea pot (kyusu) that incorporates a steel mesh, with a perfect size for brewing gyokuro, as well as two small cups and a water cooler (yuzamashi) where you will transfer the boiled water before pouring it on the leaves inside the pot, once it has reached 50 degrees.

Koga Kumiko san represents the fourth generation at her family business KOGACHA GYO in Yame, Fukuoka. Working alongside her mother, president of the company, and her father, director of operations, she is a tea instructor.
Dedicated to lead her company through the challenges of the green tea industry in the 21st century, she is in charge of overseas sales. She also travels around the world to give tea seminars to introduce Yame green tea to foreign tea lovers.
