Description

Carefully selected and prepared by koucha master Okamoto san in Saga prefecture, YUKI is a tasty organic koucha (Japanese black tea) flavored with lychee and blended with rose petals. A delicious and fragrant afternoon drink.

Prepare it hot or cold, on its own or along your favorite afternoon treat. No need for any sweetener to enjoy the delicate rose and lychee fragrance of this delicious koucha!

YUKI comes either in a beautiful gift box (50g) or in a plain kraft bag (100g).

Recommended cold-brew preparation: prepare a pot of hot tea, then pour it in a tall glass filled with ice cubes. Can also be prepared in a cold brew bottle.

For additional brewing tips, please read our full review by Alex Ahearn on our "Tasting Corner" page.

*This tea was grown without using any pesticide or fertilizer, but its grower couldn't afford the costs associated with the JAS organic certification. It contains no sweetener.

Producer Information

When he was 28, Okamoto san switched careers and opened a tea shop in Saga City. A blender specializing in Japanese black tea, which is rare in Japan, he travels all over the country to visit tea farmers and select unique koucha. He researches koucha-food pairings, and receives requests for blending black tea from long-established Japanese sweets stores, hotels and restaurants.

Currently the chairman of koucha at the International Friendship Tea Ceremony held at the University of Cambridge, England, Okamoto san published Japan’s first koucha book, “The Book of Japanese Black Tea.” He is working hard to convey the charm and potential of Japanese black tea, such as giving lectures and holding classrooms nationwide, and instructing producers.
