MITSUMI
High-Grade Sencha
Description
2023 harvest
MITSUMI is a stunning example of a deep-steamed (fukamushi) sencha made by Nagayama san in Chiran. A first-harvest shincha that showcases the beauty of an early-picked tea.
Made with a blend of the Yutaka Midori and Yabukita cultivars, this sencha has a nice balance of light aromatic and vegetal characteristics. Notes of bean sprouts and watercress are accented by notes of wildflowers and kumquat peel.
This tea is a wonderful daily drink or a refreshing afternoon brew.

KAZUHIRO NAGAYAMA
In 1942 the first generation Eiyu Nagayama established the Nagayama tea factory, the second generation Nagayama Akira cleared up forests and expanded our fields.
After that, Akio Nagayama commited to continue improving our tea quality. And now, the 4th generation through the efforts of Nagayama Kazuhiro, we have been certfied JGAP and ISO9001. We are located in Ei-Cho at the southern tip of the Satsuma Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture, the annual average temperature is 17 ° C and the climate is mild. Our tea plant is located in a mountain above 250 meters in altitude with morning and evening fog, day and night temperature difference, wet soil and moderate solar radiation, is the ideal natural environment for tea trees. What Customers say
Favorite fukamushi
Love the deep flavor of this fukamushi. Surprisingly sweet--almost like a gyokuro--but still distinctively sencha.

Mitsuhiro tea
A wonder tea for a quiet moment.
Highly recommend
Mitsumi is one of my favorite Ikkyu teas. Its light umami flavor adds to the soft vegetal taste. Matsumi has a beautiful soft green color and gets darker with the second and third brews. I love that it is low in caffeine. I can enjoy a cup in the afternoon as well. I prefer to brew this tea at 145 degrees, it seems to be more flavorful.
A wonderful tea
I also enjoy drinking MITSUMI it is one of my favorite Ikkyu teas.
