Description

A beautiful cup made in the image of the Goshomaru tea bowl, which was first designed in Korea in the early Edo period (16th century).

Based on the characteristics of the Goshomaru tea bowl, the body of this cup is carved like the pattern of a turtle shell, and the base is made in the shape of a large heptagon.
A blend of pottery and porcelain, the color of the tea inside seems to shine.

This cup follows the “80-20” principle celebrated in Japan: any pottery is 80% the creation of the potter master, and 20% how its owner uses it.

Indeed, with each brew, the glaze of this cup will absorb a little bit of the tea poured inside it. The color will gradually change over time, making each and single cup a truly unique piece – almost a living, organic creation.
