Description

Plucked in May during the first harvest in Hoshino, Yame, this ceremonial matcha prepared by Koga san is a premium blend of Yabukita and Okumidori cultivars. We love its vivid green colour, smooth and velvety umami, nutty notes, and refreshing aroma.

This unique Yame matcha was blended exclusively for IKKYU and comes in limited quantities. A refined matcha, MASASHI is complex and balanced with a rich mouthfeel and a lingering sweetness. You can brew it at 80C - 176C for a sweet spot, and increase the temperature at 90C - 194C for a boost of its nutty flavor.

Sold in 30g tins, an outstanding Yame matcha that will please the most demanding matcha fans.

Koga Kumiko san represents the fourth generation at her family business KOGACHA GYO in Yame, Fukuoka. Working alongside her mother, president of the company, and her father, director of operations, she is a tea instructor.

Dedicated to lead her company through the challenges of the green tea industry in the 21st century, she is in charge of overseas sales. She also travels around the world to give tea seminars to introduce Yame green tea to foreign tea lovers.
