Description

This small and elegant brown kyusu handmade by the craftsmen of Tamamitsu Touen kiln in Tokoname is perfect to brew gyokuro. Its flat shape allows the leaves to bloom and take as much space as they need.

A delicate honeycombed ceramic strainer is integrated into the pot and filter the leaves without leaving an unnecessary metallic smell. Seaweed is applied to the clay before firing to create a random and beautiful design all over its body.

Contains: 160ml / 5.4 oz

About Tokoname ware

Tokoname town dates back to the 12th century and is located in northern Japan (Aichi). It is famous throughout Japan for its clay quality and its kilns make some of the best kyusu (tea pots) for green tea.

Tokoname teapots are characterized by the fact that the iron contained in the clay reacts with the tannins in the tea to remove the bitterness and astringency, and creates a mellow taste. Unglazed, the smooth teapots absorb excess ingredients and makes the tea taste better.
