MATCHA SCOOP
Description
This matcha scoop (chashaku) in natural brown bamboo is made by hand in Takayama, Japan, by 24th generation chasen-master Kubo Masaki, recognized as National Living Treasure for his skills.
Sold in a beautiful box that makes it a very nice present for all matcha tea lovers, it is the perfect companion to the white, dark or long-handled handmade bamboo matcha whisks made by Kubo sensei.
A chashaku is used for measuring and transferring matcha powder into a tea bowl. One spoon is about 2g of powder, the exact quantity needed for one serving of matcha or houjicha powder.
Cleaning instructions: use a damp cloth to wipe down the tea scoop after each use. Do not use soap.

KUBO MASAKI
Kubo san was born into a matcha whisk family and has devoted his life to chasen making. His craftsmanship has a long history and has been passed on from generation to generation in his family. He was recognized as a traditional master craftsman by the Minister of International Trade and Industry of Japan in 1987, and was awarded "Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette" in the autumn of 2015.
