Producer Information

When he was 28, Okamoto san switched careers and opened a tea shop in Saga City. A blender specializing in Japanese black tea, which is rare in Japan, he travels all over the country to visit tea farmers and select unique koucha. He researches koucha-food pairings, and receives requests for blending black tea from long-established Japanese sweets stores, hotels and restaurants.

Currently the chairman of koucha at the International Friendship Tea Ceremony held at the University of Cambridge, England, Okamoto san published Japan’s first koucha book, “The Book of Japanese Black Tea.” He is working hard to convey the charm and potential of Japanese black tea, such as giving lectures and holding classrooms nationwide, and instructing producers.

Omg my favourite cold brew tea. It’s become a daily ritual . It’s refreshing, the taste is subtle, not overpowering, but you still get the hints of lychee and rose a combination . well done to the craftsmanship in putting these flavours together

This is really nice

We normally don't drink black tea nor do we drink aromatized tea. But, with the quality of the other teas from IKKYU in mind we decided to try this one, intrigued as we were by the description. And well, everyone here loves the velvety taste and the fresh fruityness of this very fine tea. It is so soft on the palate you hardly notice you're drinking black tea and the aromas are so fragrant it's like sticking your nose in a fresh lychee. Absolutely worth trying! In fact, your loss if you don't.

Excellent for summer!

This tea has a wonderful flavor from the lychee and rose. Neither are overpowering or mask the natural flavors of the tea, but all three compliment each other well. This is a great tea to have chilled during summer, as the fruit flavors really come alive with cooler water. One of my favorites from Ikkyu.
