MIO
High-grade Sencha
Description
2025 first harvest
Crafted by the tea masters of Koga Cha Gyo, MIO is an elegant expression of Yame Sencha—refined, luminous, and quietly complex.
Dry leaves release a gentle bouquet of sweet fruit, fresh corn, and soft gardenia florals. When brewed, the tea reveals a vibrant green-gold liquor with a silky body and a lingering sweetness that slowly unfolds and will gently coat your mouth.
Perfectly balanced and naturally smooth, MIO offers remarkable clarity with almost no bitterness, making it an inviting gateway into the world of Japanese sencha while retaining the depth that seasoned tea drinkers appreciate.
For a deeper expression, prepare the tea as Koga-san recommends: 6 g of leaves infused for 1 minute. This fuller extraction draws forward a rich umami core, accompanied by a fleeting hint of bitterness and delicate astringency that settles into a long, rounded sweetness.
MIO is composed of two celebrated cultivars—Yabukita, prized for its structure and classic sencha character, and Saemidori, known for its vivid color and natural sweetness—creating a tea of harmony, brightness, and enduring finish.
