Koga Kumiko san represents the fourth generation at her family business KOGACHA GYO in Yame, Fukuoka. Working alongside her mother, president of the company, her father, director of operations, as well as her brother and sister, she is a tea instructor.

The gyokuro lives up to expectation, the tasting experience is luxurious, grassy, and refined. I loved the packaging too and that cylinder container is beautiful. I totally recommend.

I bought this for my 92 year old Japanese mom, she was wanting some tea. i had no idea what to get her and i started doing some research online and found out that Gyokuro Tea was the finest tea to get and then i found this website. after finding out it was grown in Japan and the history of tea growing in the region I bought this box. When it arrived i was excited to give it to my mom and find out if she liked it. the first words out of her mouth when she seen the box was "normal People dont drink this tea everyday" i told her that she is going to. she loved the tea which made me very happy. thank you for your fantastic tea. I will be buying more when she starts running low. i want her to have the best so i will be buying from Ikkyu Tea for sure.

While this isn’t the best Gyokuro I’ve ever had, it is my favorite to drink everyday. You can prepare it a bit warmer than other high quality tea without ruining the flavor, Which is nice to sip on. The flavors are pretty balanced across the board and go with food well. It’s a little on the expensive side but it’s worth it if you’re really looking for that Gyokuro experience.
